Since February, a lot has happened.

I explored a wellness collaboration, supported Black-owned businesses in a few different ways, and had one of those unexpected little life moments that still makes me smile: I got to be on *The Sherri Show*.

Then March came, and I stepped into the very space I had gone to see in February. Since then, I’ve taught 9 new clients in Delaware, started a 16-week business marketing program with DSU CURE, and hit one of my 26 Wishes: teaching a full class through a sold-out Pilates After Dark in Dover.

A lot has been moving. Some of it has felt exciting. Some of it has felt affirming. Some of it has stretched me in ways I’m still learning how to name.

One thing I’ve been thinking about lately is how a moment can be beautiful and still reveal what needs work.

Filling that Pilates After Dark class meant a lot to me. I felt happy, grateful, and deeply supported. But I also noticed how quickly self-doubt tried to follow me into a moment I had worked hard for. Even in something I had prayed for, part of me was still focused on what could have gone better.

And maybe that’s part of the lesson.

Growth is not just about the win. It’s also about what the win reveals.

That night reminded me that I want stronger boundaries, clearer communication, more organization, and less doubt. I want to keep building the kind of experience that feels aligned with the village I’m trying to create.

In between all of that, I’ve also been trying to make room for life. I went to a succulent workshop just to get out of the house, finally made it to the spa after wanting a sauna moment forever, tried dance fitness, and made a couple of solo stops at cute food spots in Dover.

My Spring Reset Challenge has started, even though I’m a little behind. Honestly, that feels fitting. Reset doesn’t always happen in a neat or perfectly timed way. Sometimes it begins right in the middle of things.

And now, after all of that movement, there’s another shift: I have to move my things out of the space I used this month because of changes in the collaboration.

So this is what I’m learning in real time: momentum and uncertainty can exist at the same time. You can be proud and still be refining. You can celebrate and still be releasing. You can be building, even when the path changes.

Apparently, last week was the start of what some people call “The Winter Arc”.

What is The Winter Arc?

Thanks to the help of Google, I can inform you that The Winter Arc is a self-improvement challenge that people start in the last 3 months of the year. This period is a time to lock in and change the narrative of slowing down and giving up on the rest of the year, as an alternative to waiting until the new year, start at the end of this year to get ahead of the game.This challenge is flexible and allows you to start on your own time. As long as you begin transitioning and make changes before the new year, it can be helpful to the future you want to create.

The idea behind this trendy approach to life on TikTok is to basically shift the mindset of how we experience the last 3 months of the year. Instead of it being a time of complacency, allow this time to be an exciting turn in your story, ending the year on a strong note while building new habits and working towards goals that can carry over into the new calendar year.

Every year is a bit different for me in terms of my life experiences, and 2025 was a particularly crazy whirlwind of a year. This year has allowed me to learn something new every day as a person who truly has no clue about what she is doing. So to make the most of things, I’ve decided to experience my very own “Winter Arc”.

I broke down my rules into five sections, and at the beginning of every month, I want to add something new.

My Winter Arc Rules Pt 1

Mental Goals:

• No screen time for the first and last hour of my day

• Read for 1 hour each day

Physical Goals:

• Practice Pilates four times a week

• Walk a minimum of 5,000 steps or more a day

Spiritual Goals:

• Fast & Pray with my church every Tuesday & Thursday from 6 am to 6 pm

• Complete my Bible refresh in the Bible app once a day

Creative Goals:

• Learn a Sentence in Haitian Creole 3 days out of the week and make a video using those sentences at the end of each week

• Write for my Newsletter at least once a day

Financial Goals:

• Do financial planning and budgeting once a week to reduce debt and budget better

• Reduce ordering out and cook at least three times a week

I’ll do my best and hope to end the year on a high note. Wish me luck.

The day before yesterday, I started to try a new routine of not touching my phone until 30 minutes after I opened my eyes. I spent 15 minutes on my wordsearch, and then I went into my backyard to just sit in silence and take in everything around me. I decided to write down all the things I heard and what came to my mind, and this is what I got. I used to love poems when I was in school, and it felt nice to just write something and share. I’m truly grateful for all the things I can experience in life.

but I have an itch!

Hey everyone, it’s been a while… specifically, 21 weeks since I last sent out a letter, which is hard to believe! I've gone through at least 21 drafts and had an abundance of experiences over the past few months that I’m eager to share with you. With just 21 days remaining in September and the third quarter of this year, I’m determined to keep pushing myself and embrace life to the fullest. You may face a time where you fall off or behind , but the key to growth i believe is to “dust yourself and try again”. I'm learning more and more that honestly “ Nothing beats a failure but a try”.

This summer has been incredible, and I am truly thankful for all the experiences and lessons it has provided. As we approach the end of Q3, I will take some time to reflect on my journey and strategize for the future. I know for sure that while I can draft a plan, circumstances may shift, and I will need to adapt and keep moving forward. My favorite saying is “ Just keep swimming” and honestly with all the distractions happening around me all I can do is find my path, stay focused, continue to pivot when nescary allowing myself to move forward through the mess with a clear mind to wherever the wind may take me.

My birthday is coming up, and I can’t help but count down the days while planning a photoshoot and a trip to celebrate. To build excitement for turning 26—which feels a bit surreal—I’m embarking on a journey themed around “16 Wishes.” One of my aspirations is to lead a full Pilates class, and I’m working on gathering the courage to make it happen. I’m not quite sure when or how I lost my confidence, or if I’ve been putting on a façade all along, but I’m committed to being true to myself and stepping out of my comfort zone. I will practice what I preach and push through my fears. While it won’t be easy, I’m determined to give it my all. With summer coming to a close, I plan to celebrate with an end-of-summer “stop, drop, and mat” session, and I’m truly looking forward to it.

Quick Catch Up

It’s hard to believe it’s been eight weeks since my last letter; saying it out loud sounds unreal, but time doesn’t wait for anyone. I’ve missed you all—did you miss me too? These past few weeks have been quite a whirlwind. I dealt with food poisoning, started to feel better, then caught a cold, recovered again, only to be hit by procrastination, my computer breaking down (still not fixed), and family matters that required my attention. Time just seems to fly by!

Despite all the chaos, I feel incredibly blessed to be safe during my travels and to have met amazing people along the way. I’m pushing myself daily to socialize and engage in activities that bring me joy amidst the ups and downs of life.

Welcome, or welcome back, to "Who Here Knows What They’re Doing?" The answer remains the same: no one, but we’re all figuring it out together. I’m thrilled to have you all as part of this growing community.

Here are some things I’m proud of from the past few weeks:

• Although I took a longer break than anticipated, I consistently posted my letter for three weeks straight, and I’m back to write more, taking it slow.

• I taught two of my new pop-up Pilates classes and have grown more comfortable, leading to smoother sessions.

• I overcame my high standards and strict perfectionism to share a fun video showcasing my outfit for my friend’s wedding. To my surprise, it accumulated 54,000 views on a platform I rarely post on, allowing me to build a new community on YouTube. It's not about the views or likes; rather, I realized that the concerns that initially held me back from posting the video were minor and not as important as I made it out to be.

• I finally tried floating Pilates in Philadelphia!

• I joined the MTA workers' lobby day to support my mom and brother advocate the rights of families working with the MTA by engaging with decision-makers to discuss ways to make change. It was something new that was really cool and eye opening.

• I took part in various networking and social events, despite not feeling very sociable. Nevertheless, I had the chance to connect with some incredible individuals and truly enjoy myself.

  

• I created a rug in Arizona, which turned out to be much more intricate and time-consuming than I initially expected. However, with plenty of patience and practice, it became a truly rewarding experience.

As the first quarter has come to a close, I am truly excited about the opportunities that the second quarter holds, even amidst all the chaos happening in the world. I look forward to progressing with strength and elevating my efforts, applying the knowledge I have gained while continuing to learn and grow.

Celebrating small victories is essential, yet I often find myself being my toughest critic, revisiting past experiences that no longer serve me.

No one is perfect, and life has its ups and downs. I take pride in how far I've come; my previous selves have paved the way for my current journey. Embracing self-love involves extending grace to myself and accepting my evolution.

I occasionally catch myself falling into the trap of procrastination, avoiding tasks out of fear. At an event I attended, someone shared that their therapist advised them to stop "dress rehearsing" disasters. Reflecting on this, I realized that this was precisely what I was doing. I had to consider how can anything go right or wrong if we haven't even taken the stage to present the script in its entirety without hesitation. Allowing things to play out as they may while performing our best to the very end.

If you constantly anticipate the worst, good things will struggle to find their way to you.

I've been planting seeds through all my efforts, and now it's time to nurture and care for them so they can thrive.

Let’s elevate our game over the next three months and see where this journey leads us!

Yesterday was tax day, and I hope everyone managed to complete their taxes without any hiccups. As a business owner, I've recently learned a great deal about taxes. One surprising discovery was that I owe $300 to the state simply for operating my business—I wasn't even aware that was a requirement! However, I’m gaining knowledge, and I plan to be better prepared for both my personal and business taxes next year. I believe setting things in order throughout the year will make the process smoother when tax season rolls around again.

Daily Refresh Devotional Reflection

Psalms 46:10

Today's scripture discussed the power of stillness. Like my post today, this scripture addresses how we use our time, or at least that's how I perceive it. Psalms 46:10 says, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth." This highlights how we can sometimes rush through our days so quickly that we forget to pause, look around us, and genuinely appreciate what we have, being mindful of stillness and acknowledging all we are blessed with. I've noticed daily that I thrive on busyness, which can be good sometimes but also distracts. I travel a lot for work and leisure and work events, along with other freelance jobs when they come up. I often procrastinate and feel uncomfortable with stillness or simply taking in my surroundings. I frequently fill that void with social media, K-dramas, C-dramas, Anime, and other distractions that keep me occupied. After reading this, I've come to understand more that I need to take time to be still, especially since I have the opportunity to do so. I am trying to prioritize, balance my busyness with stillness, and build a relationship with God to fully pursue and live out my purpose. It isn't easy, but I aim to improve each day because the more I reflect on my time, the more I realize through experience that time may not always be on my side. My opportunities to improve may not be there in the future. Of course, there will always be new opportunities, but while living in the present, I want to do more with what I have without overextending myself or doing too little.

Time is a precious commodity, and many of us, myself included, often overlook the actual cost of our time. Imagine how life would change if we took the time to reflect on how we spend the 24 hours we're gifted each day. Sometimes, time slips away unnoticed, leaving me feeling unproductive. Then, there are days when I take pride in checking off one or two tasks from my to-do list. There are also some hectic days filled with constant activity, racing from one obligation to another with barely a moment's rest, stretching myself too thin while trying to accomplish too much in just one day.

Throughout high school and college, I juggled jobs and extracurricular activities until I decided to step back from certain aspects of my life due to feeling lost and overwhelmed. After finishing college and transitioning through various jobs and freelance work, I question what truly warrants my time. Everyone has their daily routines, and I want to ask—are you content? Do you feel fulfilled with how you spend your 24 hours? If you knew it was your last day, would you spend it the same way?

Some days satisfy me, but to be completely honest, I often feel like I'm not making the most of my time. It's conflicting for me since there are days when I think I would have no regrets—at least, that's what I tell myself. Therefore, I plan to adopt a new strategy that allows me to divide my time so that every part of my life receives attention, even if some days lean more toward one area than another. This will align with the routine of the 888 rule, where I set 8 hours for sleep, 8 hours for work, and 8 hours for leisure while actively pursuing my purpose and documenting my progress to see how it unfolds.

I'm excited to track my next few days and what I do while trying to use my time without stretching myself too thin. While some people regret the time they didn't use, let's shift our focus from dwelling on what we didn't accomplish to what we can achieve in the coming days. Let us take in our surroundings, accept the passing of childhood while living and nurturing our inner child, and identify all the things that make our day complete 24/7. For the next week, I will take on the challenge of writing and sharing a newsletter, reflecting on how I allocate my time. I'm thankful for the ample free time many pray for, yet I often feel the urge to do more. I remember a time when I longed for this, and I know that I might be so busy in the future that I wish I had this time back.

Have you ever considered how you utilize your 24 hours? Do you have a good balance, or do you wish for more time to spend elsewhere? While we sometimes lack control over how our time is divided, we can always choose how we spend our free time. Sometimes, we perceive ourselves as having plenty of time when we don't, or vice versa, feeling pressed for time when we only need to pause and breathe. Nobody is perfect, and everyone has a different purpose for their time. We can all discover what we once didn't know about how to live fully, 24/7, with our purpose.

I created my newsletter on January 15, 2023 (18,395 hours ago), made plans to launch it on January 28, 2024(9,323 hours ago), but finally released it on January 28, 2025 (515 hours ago). Even though it took me forever and a day, I finally started taking action and writing my newsletter. After writing for the past few weeks, I realized I thought too much about the what-ifs instead of just putting it out and seeing what happens. I'm excited to see how this week goes, and I hope you can read this and realize that your time is worth what you put into it. We are blessed with so much time, but it may not always be that way. Let's live every day and work towards what's meant for us in an intentional way of living our best lives, whether we are scared or not. Just take some breaths, pray, and go about your day. I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback on today's post.

When embarking on the journey of starting a business, it's essential to have a foundation to build upon—whether that's a compelling idea or actionable steps such as planning, making key financial choices, and navigating various legal requirements. When I first ventured into entrepreneurship, I felt uncertain about where to begin. Fortunately, I had knowledgeable individuals around me who guided me through the process. I am still learning to promote my business and secure funding effectively, but I recognize that these challenges are all part of the entrepreneurial journey.

Trial and Error

Being a business owner often feels like a journey of trial and error. Although not everything has gone according to plan, I'm grateful for the experiences that have taught me valuable lessons rather than remaining in uncertainty. By taking the necessary steps to establish my business, I've successfully formed an official LLC, and this April, I will celebrate one year of being one.

My goal with this business has been to host events, teach classes, and support individuals in discovering new ways to live purposefully. I have organized two official events that didn't unfold as expected, but I had the pleasure of meeting incredible people—my first customers, whom I truly appreciate.

I have so much more in store for this year. The past twelve months have been fantastic, filled with planning and attending events, traveling, and learning something new daily. I aim to maintain this momentum and invite you all to join me. I hope you discover what brings you joy and live your life fully, embracing your unique purpose.

I am excited to present "Stop, Drop, and Mat," an innovative butterfly mat class highlighting fire safety. The class will be divided into two segments: The first half will introduce participants to beginner Pilates, concentrating on essential movements and techniques. The second half will include dancing, all while keeping a playful fire safety theme. RSVP is necessary, as only six spots are available.

We are now officially in the second month of 2025, and it’s Black History Month. Paris Couture Week has just wrapped up, while New York Fashion Week is on the horizon. I’ve come across so many stunning pieces that are incredibly inspiring amidst all the chaotic news happening around the world. At times, it felt overwhelming, but then I was reminded to center myself and pray. With God by my side throughout the day, I know I’ll be alright no matter the circumstances. I sent out the first newsletter just last week, but I don't think I correctly introduced the letter or myself.

So, what is "Who Here Knows What They're Doing?"

To answer your question, I initially started this newsletter while reflecting on my transition from being a recent college graduate. Despite my education, I still felt unsure about my direction and what I wanted to pursue. At that time, I expressed, "Sometimes, I wonder if we ever truly know what we are doing in this life as we each navigate our paths. There's always something new to learn, even for those with a wealth of knowledge. Setting goals only matters if we actively work towards achieving them. I've always enjoyed keeping busy but never fully committed to personal growth." Since that reflection in 2023, I believe I’ve made strides in finding joy while exploring my purpose.

Now that I have officially launched my newsletter, I intend to document past and present experiences and insights each week, sharing my discoveries lightheartedly. If you’re interested, I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences as you join me on this adventure! 💝

Daily Refresh Devotional Reflection

Mark 4:9

Reading this scripture and chapter, I realized that in many situations with the word and throughout my life, I tend to listen very much and not hear, which often hurts me more than helps me. A lot of the time, I tend to divide my attention, considering it to be harmless. Still, it is very harmful because I can never get a whole experience of understanding, which hinders my growth. In this life, I want to be a seed and plant seeds that prosper over and over and to do that, I need to stay on good ground, set a sturdy foundation, and adequately create and water the crops that I sow in a way where they can only increase and produce in overflow. To do that, I must keep my attention on nurturing the seeds that I want to prosper, and in that case, my seeds are my relationship with God and the business that I want to lead in his ways. Through the breakdown of the parables of the sower being explained, for me to bear the fruit of the seeds being planted, I must not only listen but hear the word and accept it to see good, firm results truly. Even when receiving feedback, there is a habit of not wholly accepting it. I have had conversations and now hear what people say to better myself, not to change who I am but to improve my character. Similar to the ending of the chapter instead of being in panic and staying stagnant due to some uncertainty i now choose to hear what God speaks in these words and hown in on my faith. Now more than ever, instead of listening to all the crazy things going on in this world, I choose to hear the things around me and continue in my faith to nurture the seeds of my business in building a community and relationship with God that is needed now more than ever to live abundantly within a strong foundation of faith because with him all things can be done.

Okay, so I wrote that reflection at 7 a.m. this morning and am ensuring I post it before the sun goes down. Like everything I do, I got distracted and dragged this on until 2 p.m. Don’t ask what I did all that time to start writing, lol. I created this page in 2023 and have had the goal to release it since then, and I guess today is the day.

I have had a lot of conversations about choices

what are the choices you are making

what are the ones you aren’t making

it’s up to you how things go based on choice, whether you choose to do something or not

Your choices are essential and can form different experiences based on your approach

I choose sometimes to procrastinate as well as travel and shop to escape my responsibilities

Through learning myself, I also decided to get certified in pilates and start my own business, Brownsville Butterfly LLC.

More recently, I have grown in the power of selecting me.
